It has become apparent to me that religion is now officially a bad thing. But why? Why, something that can potentially give hope to people, make a greater connection between people, bring people together! Why would that be bad? Because it doesn't. Way back when people didn't think much of it, it was alright to just accept that there was a god and you would go to heaven or come back as a stag beetle. But we're in the age of information now! You can get music for free, games for free, and you can talk with people anywhere for free! Sans the Internet bill, of course, but that is so incredibly minor in comparison to what you receive. So in the age of information, it's not shocking to see that people also happen to be giving up religion. You must understand that considering it's my job, my fun, and most of my days are spent behind a monitor, I talk to many people. I always look for the right people before I make my RCs. I look in the right forums, and systematically throw out the well-formed opinions from the mindless drone opinions. So it is in this perspective, I've found religion to be an overall bad thing for humanity. This is because though it's a good idea in theory, in practice it gets corrupted. There's so many wars that have happened because of religion, wars that are happening, and wars that are going to happen. People are going to get wrinkles in their forehead from frowning all the time when their best friend's religion is Catholic and they are Atheist. It's inevitable - think about it! You honestly believe you have the right way to get to heaven, and so you want to spread it around as much as possible. And who wouldn't? You live forever, basking in the righteousness of god. We get roughly 80 years on Earth, and you get eternity. But it's inevitable that people are going to fight over it. "No, no, God wants THIS to happen!" "You should worship him by going to a church!" "God would rather you just blow yourself up and kill his own creations." And thus began the first war. It's... pathetic, that humans being so amazing, can't handle a simple concept such as religion. You either have a feeling you're going to live eternally when you die, or you don't. So why do we have to fight? It's merely proof that humans after all, just cannot handle religion. It's because of the reasons stated above, that I suggest everyone in the world ask themselves the question of whether or not they honestly believe there is an afterlife. Or karma, or a governing force. Now normally I'd just stop here, but more needs to be said. I've told you religion is bad for humanity, that's out of the picture. Remember I always encourage people to send me a message if you think you can prove me wrong. Just remember I don't talk if I'm wrong. Continuing. What really... "gets" me is either side ('side' here being believers vs. nonbelievers) believing they know for a fact that their side is correct. I will tell this to you straight. Believers. You believe you feel a force, you believe old monks' books, you believe there is something after we die. Super, but until you grasp the essence of cosmos itself and prove that you've found whatever made us, then you cannot claim that you know for a fact that god exists. Nonbelievers! You believe there is nothing waiting for us at the end of the journey of life. All things that have ever happened are called under the human-created element of "luck" and all things predictable (you guys love scientific fact) you call nature. So thus you base your beliefs in that what you see cannot possibly have been put here by a god. However, you cannot prove there is no god, either, because your "nature" can fall under the mystical powers of god, your "luck" can be divine intervention. Anyone claiming a divine being does or does not exist is an immature prat. This plays mostly in the fact you are using absolutes. So many arguments could be prevented if you said, "I believe god exists" or "I do not believe god exists". That's it. You say "God doesn't exist.", you better be ready to prove it. And the problem is, and I find it sooooo much with the Atheists, that they don't make that connection. It's so ironic that Atheists are always acting as if they've seen the light, as if they really know the truth because every other idiot out there believes some god snapped his fingers and *POOF* humans! I await the day Atheism decides what it doesn't actually believe in, because a lot of the extra-retarded Atheists only don't believe in the christian facet of god. All the other ones they just seem to forget when debating with me. I'm going to stop before this turns into an anti-atheist article. The sad part is that it's my belief that only 1/10 people will read this and change their lives. It's the Utopian number. Ahh well. No whining. Take it easy, folks |
